Expert Care for Breast Health

Whether it's a benign lump or a cancer diagnosis, we provide compassionate, precise surgical care focused on your health and your cosmetic outcome.

You Are Not Alone

Finding a lump or receiving an abnormal mammogram result is frightening. At California Surgical Specialists, we prioritize rapid evaluation to give you answers quickly.

We treat the whole person, not just the condition. Our goal is to guide you through diagnosis and treatment with clarity and compassion, ensuring you understand every option available to you.

Comprehensive Breast Care

Expert Management of Benign Conditions

Not all breast lumps are cancer. In fact, most are benign. However, benign conditions can still cause pain, anxiety, or deformity. We treat:

Fibroadenomas

Solid, smooth, firm benign lumps that are common in young women. We can remove them surgically if they are painful or growing, using hidden incisions to minimize scarring.

Breast Cysts

Fluid-filled sacs that can be drained or removed if persistent.

Intraductal Papilloma

A small, benign tumor in the milk duct that can cause discharge.

Gynecomastia

Enlarged breast tissue in men, treated with surgical excision for a more masculine chest contour.

Surgical Excellence in Cancer Care

If surgery is part of your cancer treatment plan, our surgeons focus on two main goals: complete removal of the cancer and optimal cosmetic results.

1

Lumpectomy (Breast Conservation Therapy)

  • We remove only the tumor and a small rim of healthy tissue (margins).
  • The Goal: To save the breast while ensuring the cancer is gone.
  • Oncoplastic Techniques: We use plastic surgery techniques during the removal to reshape the breast tissue, preventing dents or distortion after healing.
2

Mastectomy

  • Removal of the entire breast tissue. This may be necessary for larger tumors or multiple cancer sites.
  • Nipple-Sparing Mastectomy: In appropriate cases, we can preserve the nipple and areola for a more natural appearance.
  • Skin-Sparing Mastectomy: We preserve as much of the breast skin as possible to create a "pocket" for immediate reconstruction.

Accurate Diagnosis is Key

Diagnostic Biopsy

If you have a suspicious lump, we perform core needle biopsies or surgical excisional biopsies to get a definitive diagnosis.

Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy

For invasive breast cancer, checking the lymph nodes is crucial for staging. We use advanced mapping techniques to identify and remove only the first few "sentinel" nodes, sparing the rest to reduce the risk of arm swelling (lymphedema).

Recovery & Restoration

Reconstruction Coordination:

We work closely with top plastic surgeons to offer immediate reconstruction (during the same surgery as the mastectomy) whenever possible.

Follow-Up:

Breast cancer care doesn't end in the operating room. We coordinate with your medical oncologists and radiation therapists to ensure a seamless treatment plan.

Precision with Compassion

Breast surgery requires a delicate balance of oncologic safety (curing the cancer) and aesthetic preservation (saving the look of the breast). Dr. Abidali and Dr. Qureshi approach every surgery with meticulous planning to ensure that you not only survive but thrive with confidence after your recovery.
